The sixth plenary meeting of the UN GlobE Network on anti-corruption has started today in Baku. Over 300 officials from 92 countries are participating to strengthen global cooperation against corruption.
Kamran Aliyev, Azerbaijan’s Prosecutor General, delivered President Ilham Aliyev’s address to attendees.
The event brings together more than 300 representatives from over 120 government agencies across 92 countries, including prosecutors’ offices, independent anti-corruption bodies, and international organizations, with additional participants joining online.
The meeting aims to discuss organizational matters, share experiences on advancing corruption cases, and provide operational training. Over 100 speeches will cover topics such as asset confiscation, stopping suspicious financial transactions, international cooperation on freezing bank accounts, and raising public awareness against corruption.
Special sessions will focus on environmental violations, aligning with Azerbaijan’s Year of the Constitution and Sovereignty and its COP29 presidency. The plenary also features bilateral meetings and cooperation agreements, and will run until May 23.
