President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met in Copenhagen on Thursday where discussions centred around peace, humanitarian support and future cooperation.
At the meeting, President Zelenskyy congratulated the Azerbaijani head of state on the achievements reached in Washington regarding the peace agenda between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
President Ilham Aliyev expressed gratitude for the congratulations and underlined that the steps taken to advance the peace agenda carry historic significance. He added that Azerbaijan will continue its efforts to ensure lasting peace in the region.
The discussion also highlighted Azerbaijan’s humanitarian assistance to Ukraine, with particular attention to the care extended to Ukrainian children. The Ukrainian side voiced appreciation for this support.
In addition, the two leaders exchanged views on cooperation in the energy sector, emphasising the value of strengthening bilateral ties.
