Russia has supported Azerbaijan and Armenia’s decision to dissolve the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) Minsk Group, stating that the structure will be terminated by the end of 2025.
Russia’s Permanent Representative to the OSCE, Alexander Lukashevich, said that given the positions of Azerbaijan and Armenia, there is no longer any basis for the Minsk Group’s continuation.
According to him, the final dissolution is expected by December 2025 and will affect three institutions: the Minsk Group itself, the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office’s Personal Representative, and the High-Level Planning Group.
Lukashevich added that since both parties consider maintaining these bodies unnecessary, Russia also sees no reason to prevent their dissolution.
