After days of high-altitude competition and fierce rivalries and despite challenging conditions in Shahdag, Europe’s top athletes pushed to the summit in one final test of endurance before the competition finished.
The final day has seen the skiier's do a vertical ascent to the mountain's summit. Athletes were equipped with ultra-lightweight carbon skis, boots and specialised bindings as they climbed between 500 and 800 meters in very low visibility.
The competition was held at 2,351 metres high with weather challenges including very thick fog. Switzerland has come out on top with 9 medals, Germany is second with 8 and Austria came third winning 5.
The other participating countries are; Türkiye, Italy, Slovenia, Russia, Spain, Norway, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Poland, Slovakia, Greece, Andorra and Sweden.
