The Weeknd, one of the biggest music stars of our time, has announced that his upcoming album, Hurry Up Tomorrow, releasing on January 24, 2025, will be his final project under the “The Weeknd” name. This album concludes his After Hours and Dawn FM trilogy, drawing inspiration from the philosophical ideas of Friedrich Nietzsche. The Weeknd has collaborated with notable artists for this project, including Brazilian singer Anitta and synth pioneer Giorgio Moroder.

The announcement comes after a pivotal moment in 2022 during his After Hours Til Dawn tour when his voice failed him on stage at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles. Despite fighting through exhaustion and sickness in the past, this was the first time his voice couldn’t deliver, leaving him feeling defeated. After medical advice, it became clear that the issue wasn’t physical but mental, prompting him to reflect on his future in music.

As part of his farewell, The Weeknd will perform at the Rose Bowl on January 25, 2025. His decision to retire under this moniker marks the end of an era for one of the most influential figures in modern music, leaving fans with one final masterpiece before he moves on to new creative endeavors.
