Billy Joel has announced the cancellation of all his upcoming concerts following a diagnosis of Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus — a rare brain condition that affects hearing, vision, and balance.
Legendary American singer-songwriter Billy Joel has canceled all of his scheduled performances in North America and England due to a recent diagnosis of Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus (NPH), a brain disorder that impacts balance, vision, and hearing.
Joel expressed his regret to fans, saying, “I’m sincerely sorry to disappoint our audience, and thank you for understanding.”
Earlier in March, Joel had undergone surgery and began physical therapy, though it remains unclear whether those medical issues were related to his NPH diagnosis. The illness, though rare and difficult to diagnose, can lead to serious complications including walking difficulties, loss of bladder control, and cognitive issues. However, it can be managed with surgical intervention and rehabilitation.
