Ford Motor Company will recall 35,328 vehicles due to a potential fire hazard linked to faulty LED lights in the exterior mirrors, the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) announced on Tuesday.
The recall targets certain Lincoln Navigator models manufactured between 2015 and 2017.
According to NHTSA, the exterior mirrors on these vehicles are equipped with LED logo lights that may short circuit, posing a risk of fire. To address the issue, dealers will disconnect the LED light wires free of charge for affected customers.
Ford has not yet commented on the recall, and owners of the impacted vehicles are advised to contact their local dealerships for further information and to schedule the necessary repair. The action comes as part of ongoing efforts by U.S. regulators to ensure vehicle safety and prevent potential hazards on the road.
