U.S. industrial production rose by 0.1% in September, rebounding after a decline in August, while capacity utilisation remained unchanged, according to Federal Reserve data.

U.S. industrial production rose 0.1% in September, in line with market expectations, the Federal Reserve reported on Wednesday. The increase follows a revised 0.3% drop in August, signalling a modest rebound.

Manufacturing output remained unchanged, while mining production was steady and utilities saw a 1.1% rise.

Capacity utilisation, a key gauge of overall economic activity, held at 75.9%, slightly below analysts’ forecasts.

On a yearly basis, industrial output grew 1.6%, reflecting gradual expansion in the sector.
