Meta Platforms is set to invest nearly $1 billion in a new data center project in central Wisconsin as part of its broader push into artificial intelligence technology, according to a Bloomberg News report released on Friday.
Earlier this year, Wisconsin reached an agreement with an unnamed company using an alias to develop the data center, with an expected multiyear investment of $837 million. Documents reviewed by Bloomberg confirmed that Meta is behind the project.
Both Meta and the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation declined to comment when contacted by Reuters about the report.
