At least 34 fatalities reported in a missile attack on Sumy

Several regions in Ukraine faced heightened alert on Palm Sunday, as reports of explosions and missile threats drew public attention and official responses.

Explosions were reported in the city of Sumy on Palm Sunday, 13 April, during a declared ballistic missile threat affecting several regions.

According to Andrii Kovalenko, head of the Centre for Countering Disinformation, strikes took place in the city.

Local media noted that two explosions were heard prior to any official confirmation. As of now, at least 34 people have been confirmed dead and 117 others injured.
