A Russian drone strike hit a multi-storey apartment building in Kharkiv late Sunday, sparking a fire and injuring eight people, Mayor Ihor Terekhov said.
Drone Attack on Residential Areas
Kharkiv, a frequent target of Russian airstrikes, was again hit just days after a medical centre was damaged in a wave of drone attacks on Friday.
Terekhov said the fire spread across multiple apartments on the top floor. Three other residential buildings were also damaged, with over 100 windows shattered.
Emergency Response
Rescue crews rushed to the scene, but none of the injured required hospitalization, according to the mayor.
Kharkiv, which withstood Russia’s initial invasion attempt in 2022, remains one of Ukraine’s most targeted cities in ongoing drone and missile strikes.
