The European Union has reaffirmed its support for a two-state solution, stating that Gaza must be part of a future Palestinian state. The remarks follow global backlash over former U.S. President Donald Trump’s suggestion that Gaza be taken over by the U.S. after resettling Palestinians elsewhere.
A European Union foreign policy spokesperson reiterated on Wednesday that Gaza should be an essential part of a future Palestinian state, emphasising the EU's firm commitment to a two-state solution for Israelis and Palestinians.
The statement comes after Donald Trump proposed that the United States take control of Gaza following the resettlement of Palestinians. His comments sparked international criticism.

"Gaza is an integral part of a future Palestinian state," he added.
