A 5.2 magnitude earthquake has hit Taiwan, according to the European-Mediterranean Seismological Center (EMSC), as reported by TASS.
The EMSC stated that the earthquake's epicenter was located 43 kilometers (27 miles) northeast of Tainan, a city with a population of about 771,000. The quake originated at a depth of 16 kilometers (10 miles).
No reports of casualties or damage have been received.
