Argentina’s Foreign Minister Gerardo Werthein resigned on Tuesday night, the presidential office confirmed to Reuters on Wednesday, following earlier reports in the local media.
According to the newspaper La Nación, Werthein had been expected to step down after Argentina’s midterm elections on Sunday, though it remains unclear who will succeed him.
President Javier Milei announced earlier this week that a cabinet reshuffle would take place after the elections — a development being closely monitored by investors as it could determine the future of his economic reform agenda.
