YPG militants and Syrian forces clash in Aleppo after ceasefire violation

Clashes have broken out in the northern Syrian city of Aleppo after Kurdish YPG militants allegedly violated a ceasefire agreement and attacked Syrian forces and civilians.

Fierce fighting has erupted between Kurdish YPG militants and Syrian government troops, according to local media.

Authorities accuse the YPG of breaching a 10 March agreement with Damascus by launching assaults on both security forces and civilians.

Heavy clashes are currently concentrated in the Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafiyeh districts, where residents report intense gunfire and explosions.
