A sudden tornado hit a village in Inner Mongolia, damaging tourist yurts but leaving no casualties, as emergency teams quickly restored power and completed cleanup.
On Monday, a powerful tornado struck Xinsheng Village in Ulanqab City, located in north China’s Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.
The storm, caused by severe convective weather around midday, damaged eight Mongolian yurts used for tourism by a local homestay operator.
Local authorities swiftly responded, dispatching public security, emergency crews, and other relevant departments to manage rescue operations and assess the damage.
The tornado also disrupted electricity by toppling utility poles, but power was fully restored within an hour by the local power company.
Despite the destruction, no injuries or fatalities were reported. Cleanup at the affected site has since been completed.
