Ajax wins 4-2 against Qarabağ FK in Champions League clash

In a dramatic Champions League clash at Baku’s Tofiq Bahramov Stadium, Qarabağ grabbed an early lead, but Ajax staged a thrilling comeback to win 4-2.

Camilo Durán opened the scoring for Qarabağ in the 10th minute, and Matheus Silva doubled their advantage in the 47th. Ajax responded with Kasper Dolberg (39’), Anton Gaei (83’), and Oscar Gloukh, who scored twice (79’, 90’), sealing the comeback.

Qarabağ impressed early with organised defence, quick transitions, and wing play, but Ajax’s high pressing and attacking fluidity turned the match around.

The two sides met last season in the Europa League, with Ajax winning 3–0 in Baku. Qarabağ are still chasing their first win over a Dutch club in European competition.

Qarabağ’s squad was nearly full-strength, missing only Brazilian winger Kady. Ajax were without Wout Weghorst due to injury. The result leaves both sides aiming to strengthen their positions in the league phase.
