U.S. President Donald Trump has reaffirmed Washington’s strong partnership with Azerbaijan and expressed hope for continued cooperation in security, energy, and regional stability.
In a congratulatory letter to President Ilham Aliyev on Republic Day, Trump praised Baku’s collaboration with the U.S. on counterterrorism and energy security, and highlighted progress in bilateral ties over the past three decades.
“We hope our partnership across key priorities — including security cooperation, economic relations, and energy development — will continue to grow,” Trump wrote, according to Azerbaijan’s APA news agency.
He also reiterated U.S. support for a lasting peace between Azerbaijan and Armenia.
“A sustainable peace will bring prosperity to the South Caucasus and open new opportunities for deeper U.S. engagement,” Trump said. “Now is the time to secure peace and usher in a new era for the region.”
