The inauguration ceremony of Pope Leo XIV took place in Vatican City, attended by international dignitaries, including Azerbaijani parliament speaker.

Sahiba Gafarova, Azerbaijani parliament speaker, participated in the enthronement of Pope Leo XIV at St. Peter's Square.

The event gathered heads of state, government officials, religious leaders, and notable public figures worldwide. During a meeting on the sidelines, the Speaker of the Milli Majlis conveyed President Ilham Aliyev’s congratulations to the new Pope and wished him success in his future endeavors.
