Lando Norris, fresh off securing his first Formula 1 world championship, has confirmed he will proudly race with the No. 1 on his McLaren in the 2026 season.
McLaren will make motorsport history on 5 December by auctioning a 2026 Formula One car before it has turned a wheel, alongside a 2026 IndyCar and the team’s first 2027 World Endurance Hypercar, in a sale organised by RM Sotheby’s ahead of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
Lando Norris won the opening round of the 2025 Formula 1 World Championship at the Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne, securing a dominant victory ahead of Max Verstappen in second and George Russell in third. The race, held at the Albert Park circuit, marked the start of an exciting season.
